  • Walrus (Odobenus rosmarus) is a species of large marine mammals and belongs to the family Odobenidae.
  • They are found in the Arctic Ocean and its periphery, such as the northern Atlantic or the Bering Sea in the northern Pacific.
  • They have long tusks and their subspecies are distinguished by their size and appearance.
  • Adult males in the Pacific may weigh as much as two tons.
  • It is a sociable animal, with a life expectancy of about 40 years, and considered as a key species Arctic marine ecosystems.
