Nandini Sahakar Scheme
- Nandini Sahakar Scheme is a women-focused initiative by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), launched in 2010.
- Its objective is to improve the socio-economic status of women and support their entrepreneurial dynamism through women cooperatives.
- Any cooperative society with at least 50% women as primary members and a minimum of three months in operation can apply.
- The scheme has no minimum or maximum limit on financial assistance for projects by women cooperatives.
- Financial assistance is provided in the form of credit linkage for infrastructure term loans and working capital, along with subsidies or interest subvention from other government schemes.
- NCDC offers a 2% interest subvention on its rate of intereston term loans for new and innovative activities and 1% interest subvention on term loans for all other activities.
- The scheme focuses on building the capacity of women cooperatives to effectively manage their enterprises.
- It brings together critical inputs such as credit, subsidies, and interest subvention from other schemes to support women’s enterprise.
