DAY - National Rural Livelihoods Mission for UPSC IAS
  • DAY – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) is the flagship program of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).
  • Aim:
    • promoting poverty reduction through building strong institutions for the poor, particularly women, and
    • enabling these institutions to access a range of financial services and livelihoods.
  • Background:
    • NRLM is a restructured version of the Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY).
    • NRLM was renamed DAY-NRLM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission) in 2016.

    • Ministry of Rural Development’s Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) launched “Sangathan Se Samridhhi– Leaving no Rural Woman Behind”.
