National Youth Festival

- National Youth Festival is an annual gathering of youth in India.
- The festival is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda.
- It is organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in association with one of the State Governments.
- Thus, it is organised in a different state each year during National Youth Week.
Objectives of the Festival
The basic objectives of the NYF are
- To bring the youth of the country together in an attempt to showcase their talents in various activities,
- To cover almost all socio-cultural aspects of life, and
- Providing an opportunity to amateur young artists to express themselves.
National Youth Festival, 2022
- The festival will be organised in Puducherry from January 12 to 16.
- It is likely to draw around 7000 youths in the age group of 18 to 22 from across the country.
- Around 500 youths from Puducherry will take part in the event.
- Those who are not vaccinated will not be allowed to participate in the Youth Festival.
