National Youth Festival is an annual gathering of youth in India.
The festival is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda.
It is organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in association with one of the State Governments.
Thus, it is organised in a different state each year during National Youth Week.

Objectives of the Festival

The basic objectives of the NYF are

To bring the youth of the country together in an attempt to showcase their talents in various activities,
To cover almost all socio-cultural aspects of life, and
Providing an opportunity to amateur young artists to express themselves.

National Youth Festival, 2022

The festival will be organised in Puducherry from January 12 to 16.
It is likely to draw around 7000 youths in the age group of 18 to 22 from across the country.
Around 500 youths from Puducherry will take part in the event.
Those who are not vaccinated will not be allowed to participate in the Youth Festival.
