Whooping Crane
- Whooping Crane, also called as Grus americana, is a large bird belonging to the family Gruidae.
- This species is endangered but it is under several breeding programs.
- Protection and Conservation of the Governments of Canada and the United States reported that there were around 200 surviving individuals in October 2005.
- It is found in the marshes of the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge and Wood Buffalo National Park.
- It is known for its whooping sound.
- These cranes are omnivores but they also eat barley and wheat.
