  • Its objective is to promote cooperation in disaster risk reduction and building climate resilience in Asia and the Pacific.
  • Its vision is to create safer communities and sustainable development through disaster risk reduction.
  • ADPC has 9 founding member countries, including India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
  • Its international Charter was signed by 9 founding member countries and came into effect in 2018.
  • The organization is governed by a Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, Advisory Council, and Regional Consultative Committee.
  • The organization has its headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, and sub-centers in the country of operations.

ADPC’s Objectives

  • To strengthen disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the region.
  • To build robust systems, institutional mechanisms, and capacities to withstand various hazards.
  • To provide training and deploy disaster risk management strategies to mitigate the impacts of natural disasters and climate change.
